Dentures are the most appropriate procedure when a significant amount of healthy hard tooth tissue has been lost due to caries damage, large non-hermetic fillings or tooth wear. Prosthodontics is also recommended after endodontic treatment of a tooth - the loss of tooth vitality increases the likelihood of fractures and splits in the tooth wall or root.
In the case of tooth loss, a full crown can be restored with implant-supported prostheses.
